Job Summary: Postdoctoral scholar positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Melina Kibbe. We are looking for extremely talented and highly motivated candidates with a PhD in vascular biology, cell biology, physiology, pharmacology, or biomaterials to work on the development and characterization of novel materials to improve outcomes following vascular interventions. This work will involve designing studies, conducting experiments (in vitro and in vivo), and analyzing and interpreting results from these experiments. The selected candidates will also be responsible for the preparation of manuscripts related to these projects and submission of the manuscripts for publication in scientific journals. These positions will devote the following effort: u00e2?u00a2 70% u00e2?? Conducting bench research u00e2?u00a2 10% u00e2?? Instructing graduate students and other laboratory members in laboratory techniques u00e2?u00a2 10% u00e2?? Assisting with manuscript preparation and submission u00e2?u00a2 10% u00e2?? Assisting with grant preparation and submission Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidates must have a strong background and research experience in vascular biology, physiology, pharmacology, biomaterials, or materials science. Experience in animal surgery, tissue harvesting, tissue sectioning, fluorescent microscopy, and standard laboratory techniques (UV-vis spectroscopy, ELISA, western blotting) is preferred. This position also requires evidence of: publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, presentations at national/international scientific meetings, and preparation and submission of applications for external grant funding.PhD in Vascular Biology, Cell Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Biomaterials, or related field.
