The Sr. Scientist will work with cardiovascular and endocrinology targets where the primary focus will be on developing and utilizing in vitro techniques such as cell signaling, phenotypic and biochemical assays, and receptor pharmacology.

Responsibilities:

Work with a broad knowledge of cardiovascular metabolism and endocrinology and examine and analyze various cardiac, endocrine/metabolic parameters related to carbohydrate and lipid metabolism

Work in the laboratory independently

Design, execute, interpret, and troubleshoot experiments

Motivate, lead, and supervise the activities of others

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of industry scientific experience

OR

Master's degree and 5 years of industry scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of industry scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in 'in vitro' Pharmacology, or relevant scientific discipline with extensive research experience

Accomplished academic laboratory experience with 3 years of postdoctoral experience or 3 years of industry research experience related to cardiovascular and metabolic syndrome/obesity

Industry experience in assay development, high throughput screening and hit validation to provide in vitro screening support for new target and drug discovery programs in cardiovascular and obesity research

Hands-on development and implementation of cell based assays and in vitro screens to support new target and drug discovery, pharmacological profiling of compounds, investigation of structure-activity relationships

Knowledge of receptor pharmacology (binding and kinetics)

Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and analysis, including cloning and sub- cloning, construct generation, reporter gene assays, gene knockdown or silencing techniques (e.g. CRISPR)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
