Position Summary:

The Enteric Neurosciences Program at Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota seeks a post-doctoral fellow to join this successful and highly collaborative team. The project is focused on the cell biology of interstitial cells of Cajal and the role of those cells in regulating gastrointestinal function in health and disease. The successful candidate should have a PhD in cellular physiology, neuroscience or molecular biology and an interest in intracellular Ca2 homeostasis, regulation of cellular excitability, and/or transcriptional regulation of gene expression. The technical requirements for this position are first hand experience with at least one of the following techniques: Cellular imaging, cell and tissue culture and molecular biology. An interest in ion channels would be a great asset for any applicant.

Responsibilities:

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic. 800146; J2WRTP

Qualifications:

Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program. Research Fellow is appropriate for individuals who have completed no more than one prior postdoctoral fellowship, at Mayo Clinic or elsewhere.
