We are seeking a well-trained researcher with excellent work ethic and the ability to interact with a team to work on a project focusing on skin-derived neural crest stem cells, their derivatives neurons and Schwann cells and their applications in regenerative medicine including treatment of neurogenic diseases e.g. leukodystrophies (myelin sheath disorders) and spinal cord injury. The applicant is expected to work independently as well as in collaboration with other group members to complete projects in a timely manner.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Bioengineering or Biomedical Sciences or related field.
Hands-on experience with neural stem cells and/or iPSC, stem cell differentiation into neuron and/or glial cells and functional characterization assays is required. Strong background in molecular and cell biology, high-throughput methods (RNA-Seq, ChiP-Seq, single cell RNA-seq) hands-on experience with bioinformatics and data analytics, and experience with animal models. The candidate is expected to have strong oral communications and writing skills and participate in writing research proposals.
