What You Will Do
LANL is looking for an energetic, customer focused team-oriented administrative Post Bachelors student to work with the Postdoc Office within the National Security Education Center (NSEC) at LANL. While working in a team environment, the successful candidate must also be able to work independently with increasingly minimal supervision and be capable of handling personnel and sensitive matters with tact and discretion.
This position will provide a wide range of administrative support for the Postdoc Office for a variety of office-related activities including, but not limited to:
Processing Postdoc applicant packages.
Assist with organizing, scheduling, advertising, and setting-up for meetings and other events.
Learning and working with LANL systems and processes, including Oracle, Foreign Visits and Assignments, and guest agreements.
Compiling data and metrics for reports using Excel.
Assist with tracking and managing a variety of small projects.
Manage multiple assignments with simultaneously changing priorities.
Editing of documents and file management through various software applications.
The successful candidate should be comfortable working in a fast paced and changing environment. What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree within the past 3 years or soon to be completed, with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects with strict deadlines and changing priorities.
Demonstrated experience working effectively as part of a team.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent oral and written skills, including proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Knowledge of and proficient with computer software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.)
Demonstrated record of dependability, reliability, attendance, and punctuality.
Experience organizing and/or supporting meetings and events or other activities.
Comprehensive COVER LETTER that addresses EACH Minimum Job Requirement and Desired Skill with a description of specifically how you meet those requirements, along with a resume.
Ability to obtain a Q clearance, which normally requires US Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
Experience with web design/development and/or marketing.
Education:
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree within the past 3 years or soon to be completed, with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Additional Details:
No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
