Postdoctoral Research Associate (frye / Pearce)
The Center for Integrative Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery at UNC- CH invites highly skilled and motivated synthetic organic chemists and/ or chemical biologists to apply for this position. Our group focuses on the development of chemical tools that enable the pursuit of biological questions. We combine expertise in synthetic chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to pursue chromatin-associated targets. Interested scientists should be excited to deepen their cross-disciplinary knowledge and skills while contributing intellectually to an array of projects across the group. The postdoctoral associate will become a member of a multidisciplinary team in an environment where his/her knowledge of organic synthesis will play a key role in advancing chemical biology projects.
? Ability to critically evaluate data and propose new scientific hypotheses ? Highly self-motivated, independent researcher willing to tackle challenging problems ? Excellent oral and written communication skills ? Experience in organic synthesis ? Knowledge of basic biophysical assays is advantageous ? Familiarity with chemical biology techniques and/or chromatin biology is preferredPhD in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
