Department of Bioengineering, within the Volgenau School of Engineering, has an opening for a postdoctoral research fellowship for a PhD graduate in immunology or molecular cell biology with experience in gene expression, proteomics, biomaterials, histology, and animal models. The Biomaterials and Nanomedicine laboratory at the
IABR
is investigating blood and innate immune responses to biomaterials at the cellular and molecular level, and uses cell culture and animal models to translate biomaterial implants to clinical use in the area of bone fracture repair and restoration of articular joint function.

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team developing novel immunological bioassays and will be responsible for:
Analysis of immune and osteogenesis biomarkers in human clinical samples and in vitro cell and tissue cultures, using cutting-edge proteomics and lipidomics.
Conception and testing immune-modulating biomaterials using in vitro and in vivo models, collaborating with clinicians, chemists, systems biologists and engineers to design, fabricate and characterize biomaterial implants and response patterns.
Designing experiments, conducting
GLP
research, drafting manuscripts, revisions and publication.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have earned a doctorate in immunology, molecular cell biology, biomedical engineering, or a closely related field to apply for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant experience and expertise in areas related to the research activities described above.
