Nature of work This position will be a joint effort between the laboratories ofOliver Eickelberg in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicineand Kirk Hansen in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics. Thisposition will focus on defining micro-environmental niches in lung injury and regeneration.This will be addressed using state-of-the-art genomics and proteomicstechnologies, as well as single cell approaches. Candidates should have expertisein the fields of molecular and cellular biology, primary cell culturesincluding generation of extracellular scaffolds, (live)-imaging techniques, andanimal models. The project involves the investigation of human lung tissuesamples, animal experimentation, and extensive studies with 2D and 3D cell andtissue cultures, using proteomic profiling. Suitable candidates are required tohave a high degree of enthusiasm and motivation, demonstrated researchproductivity and ability to work with colleagues in collaborative interactions.The laboratories haveextensive expertise in translational research in lung regeneration and fibrosis,animal models, advanced cell and tissue culture approaches, as well asproteomic technologies. Theposition will assist with training of junior investigators, students andfellows, and research assistants. PLEASE NOTE:Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interviewprocess and any relocation expenses. Salary and Benefits The hiring salary for thisposition is negotiable and commensurate with skillsand experience; and is in line with NIH guidelines for Postdoctoral stipends.
