The Position
A position is available for a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in protein biochemistry and structural biology methods to join the Lupardus group in the Department of Structural Biology at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. My lab has an active research program around the structure and function of receptor-coupled kinase signaling cascades involved in innate and adaptive immunity, with the goal of both deciphering the activation mechanisms as well as to aid in therapeutic design. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of their projects, including expression and purification of proteins and complexes, crystallization, data collection, structure determination and analysis of resulting structures. Our department has state of the art facilities for both X-ray crystallography and cryo-Electron Microscopy, and the candidate will ideally utilize both methods for projects during their tenure. He/she will also have a strong desire to take part in vitro assay development, protein engineering, and/or biophysical characterization to facilitate understanding of these structures.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in structural biology, biophysics, biochemistry or related discipline. A strong background in biochemistry and protein crystallography and/or cryo-EM is required, demonstrated by successful purification, characterization and crystallization of challenging proteins and evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a peer-reviewed journal. Expertise in protein engineering, biophysical techniques, and/or in vitro enzymatic assays is a plus.
