The Postdoctoral Fellow Psychology will provide clinical services for patients and families of patients, including assessment, consultation, psychological testing, brief psychotherapy, and when indicated, longer-term therapy, and behavioral interventions.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

Specific Requirements and Preferences

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, preferred.

Minimum Work Experience

3 Year(s)

Specific Requirements and Preferences

Experience working with children and adolescents from diverse backgrounds, experience working in HIV field or with other chronic illness, and multi-disciplinary team experience, preferred.

Required Skills/Knowledge

Training in evidenced-based psychological interventions.

Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Required Licenses and Certifications

Registered with District of Columbia as a Psychology Associate.

Specific Requirements and Preferences

Register with District of Columbia for supervision by licensed psychologist as requirement toward licensure. Two thousand hours post-degree conferral required prior to obtaining license in D.C., preferred.

Functional Accountabilities

Customer Service

Provide caregiver guidance and psychotherapy to youth and families living with HIV/AIDS.

Complete psychological evaluations of HIV-positive yourth and consult with family members, educational advocates and schools as needed.

Provide mental health consultation to primary care patients and their medical providers.

Teamwork/ Communication

Participate on CNMC Special Immunology and Adolescent Medicine teams to provide total care to clients.

Document services performed in the EMR systems.

Collect data aas neededd for program.

Participate in grant reporting requirements.

Problem Solving

Work with team to ensure compliance with grant expectations and requirements.
