Job Title:u00a0Post Doctoral Research Fellow, Internal MedicineDepartment:u00a0Shift:u00a01stSpecialty:u00a0ResearchJob Number:u00a02018-0856Date Posted:u00a004/20/2018Position Type:u00a0ResearchJob Qualifications:The Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a mature and motivated individual who is well trained in areas of molecular biology, cell biology, and biochemistry to join their team as full time Post-Doctoral Research Fellow.Position Highlights: This position will support the research effort of Dr. Jochen Reiser, MD, PhD.The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Work under very limited supervision, with an advanced degree of technical proficiency.Ability to design, initiate and perform complex scientific research experiments performed by a Translational Medicine research laboratory.Ability to troubleshoot and evaluate data, and prepare final reports/papers based on experimental results.Position Responsibilities: Responsible for planning and directing experiments related to cell biology, biochemistry and immunology research.This includes the planning and execution of an assigned project; identifying and executing an original research project.Identifies an original research project, experiments, and potential research directions related to research activities; collects, evaluates, interprets and provides documentation of research data to accomplish research objectives.Provides own data collection, preparation of manuscripts, and research papers for presentation and/or publications.Maintains a safe laboratory environment and ensures compliance with governmental and University policies, procedures, rules and regulations Responsible for animal handling and for working with animal tissues.Performs other job related assignments as needed.The successful candidate may also be required to supervise Research employees and/or nonexempt staff.Position Qualifications Include: PhD or MD in sciences or equivalent required.Must have 0-3 years post doc experience required with cell culture, molecular biology techniques and animal handling.Strong communication, data analysis, computer and organizational skills are highly desirable.Prior experience is required with some of the following techniques: high-throughput screening, mammalian cell culture, cell transfection assays, flow cytometry (FACS).Expertise in molecular biology (PCR, cloning, plasmid purification, RT-PCR), immunoprecipitation/Western blots and extraction of DNA, RNA and protein from patient tissue samples is a must.Candidates must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, efficient and interact well with others as part of a team.Expertise in working with relevant experimental models of disease is a must.Expertise with confocal imaging techniques and with high-content screening platforms will be a big plus.Must be able to work at a high level of independence.Good general health, manual dexterity and visual acuity; articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills.Possess the ability to organize and perform laboratory work on several concurrent research projects Company Highlights:Ranked among the top academic medical centers in the country, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is an outstanding place to enhance your career.
