The Medical Imaging Laboratory at the University of Louisville has an opening for a post-doctoral Fellow to work in the laboratory of Dr. Amir Amini to work on a project on 4D Flow Imaging. The NIH funded project awarded jointly with investigators in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine involves development of numerical methods for processing and visualization of MR velocimetry images of stenotic flows in in-vitro systems and in patients with aortic stenosis. Preferred candidates would hold a Ph.D. in Engineering or physics and have strong skills in biological flows, matlab programming, image processing, and physics of fluids. Background in flow visualization using software packages such as Ensight would be a plus. Louisville has a metro population of 1.2 Million with a mild climate, and has all the amenities of a modern city. The University of Louisville is a state supported research university located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. It was a municipally supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. The University has three campuses. The 287-acre Belknap Campus is three miles from downtown Louisville and houses seven of the university's 12 colleges and schools. The Health Sciences Center is situated in downtown Louisville's medical complex and houses the university's health related programs and the University of Louisville Hospital. The 243-acre Shelby Campus is located in eastern Jefferson County.
