Join us on the edge of discovery at both cell and molecular levels. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), the world's largest medical research facility, has a challenging position available in the Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry, NIDDK. Candidate will be conducting cutting edge research on synthetic carbohydrate chemistry and immunochemistry aimed at developing conjugate vaccines for infectious diseases caused by bacterial pathogens.
Qualifications for this position include a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and a minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral research experience in the areas listed above. A strong relevant publication record is required. Candidates should be proficient in modern synthetic carbohydrate chemistry, bioconjugation techniques, as well as in characterization of glycoconjugates by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Candidates with strong background in chromatography techniques, including analytical and preparative HPLC, and the ability to operate high field NMR spectrometers and MALDI/ SELDI mass spectrometers will be preferentially considered.
Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience. Appointments for this position are made as Staff Scientist and are open to all sources. The position is based in Bethesda, Maryland.
