Salary Range
Commensurate with experience; Stipend follows NIH NRSA salary scale for postdoctoral trainees
Specific Job Related Duties
A postdoctoral position is available in the Hellmich lab in the Department of Surgery to study colitis-associated carcinogenesis. Individuals with experience in molecular and cell biology, in vivo tumor models, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, metabolic studies, and other relevant techniques are preferred.
This appointment is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory performance. Applications must include a cover letter, CV, and a list of references uploaded as a single PDF attachment. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to receive support from an NIH training grant.
Plans, directs and coordinates complex research experiments following general technical procedures, under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.
Works with Principal Investigator to formulate research plans, coordinates project activities and establishes appropriate reporting procedures.
Contributes to scientific analysis and interpretation of projects.
Prepares manuscripts, meeting presentations, and performs background literature searches.
Makes modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator.
Confers with Principal Investigator regarding results obtained and receives suggestions for modification to procedures and/or interpretation of final data.
Adheres to internal controls established for department.
Performs related duties as required.
