The IGM is seeking a mission-critical Staff Associate position to support our research using mouse models of human disease. The Staff Associate will be responsible for the following:
- Care of the mouse colonies for all IGM laboratory users and faculty: coordinating colony use, expanding and contracting colony sizes as necessary and troubleshooting issues that arise, through frequent interactions with faculty and users to monitor and anticipation of their needs and response to new requests;
- Genotyping, including importation or development of new protocols, troubleshooting and coordinating genotyping results with laboratory technicians and logging results into data sharing system;
- Engage with Columbia's veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations, including helping our labs to maintain regulatory compliance and timely responses to veterinary requests;
- Coordinate mouse strain transfers between IGM laboratories, and with external users and vendors.
