A Postdoctoral position is available at the Ohio State University, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, to conduct applied respiratory aerodynamics research and engage in NIH-funded clinical studies to develop evaluation and treatment tools for nasal sinus disease. The projects are highly multidisciplinary in nature and involve significant collaborations with clinicians, surgeons, residents, scientists, engineers and face to face interactions with patients. Position is available immediately. Requirements include a PhD in mechanical engineering, bioengineering, biomedical engineering or related field. We are interested in individuals had previous training in computational fluid dynamics (CFD), mathematical modeling, image processing, computer simulation/visualization; and is familiar with one or more software: Ansys, Fluent, Matlab, ImageJ and familiar with UNIX or LINUX environment. Stipend is in accordance with NIH standards and based on qualifications. The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Ohio State University is currently ranked #6 nationally by US News and World Report. It has approximately 9,000 square feet of available clinical space and 4000 square feet of dedicated research space, all located on the same floor at new OSU Eye and Ear Institute. The Ohio State University Medical Center (OSUMC) includes a college of medicine and public health, five hospitals, two free-standing research institutes and a network of more than 30 community-based primary and specialty care facilities throughout central Ohio. OSUMC houses or co-manages more than 10 research centers and institutes and 22 core research laboratories.
