Molten Salt Electrochemical Postdoctoral Research Associate','19654','!*!The applicant should have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry/materials chemistry/chemical engineering/electrochemical science and engineering pertaining to the synthesis and characterization of advanced (inorganic/high temperature) materials. The candidate should have extensive background knowledge/training in applying different electrochemical techniques, including transient techniques, to study electrochemical processes (electrowinning, electroplating, electrosynthesis, metal oxide reduction etc.) in molten salt/oxide media. Knowledge of some of the materials characterization techniques, involving XRD, SEM-EDS, ICP-AES, is desirable. 

The applicant should be able to work in a group setting with minimal supervision. Other desirable qualities include willingness to participate in funding opportunity announcement activities, publish peer-reviewed research papers and submit invention discloser records and represent the laboratory in professional symposia/conferences. It is expected that the selected candidate will have a highly rewarding R&D career after the completion of his/her postdoctoral stint.

• Ph.D. requirements must be completed by commencement of appointment 

• Ph.D. in chemistry or similar physical sciences degree

• A strong background in high temperature molten salts and/or radiation chemistry 

• Must be able to work in a culturally diverse environment

• Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English)

Job Information: 

Salary Grade: $95,004 per year
