company who develop and commercialize novel diagnostics based on innovative nucleic acid technologies for many diseases. We have an exciting opportunity for a talented researcher experienced in both engineering (mechanical, microfluidics) and assay development.
We are seeking Post Doctoral Scientist - Point of Care Diagnostics (full-time position) with experience in electrochemistry ,
microfluidics assay development for the detection of infectious agents and/or host biomarkers. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team focused on the development of novel POC/Rapid tests. The position will require designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, and effective troubleshooting throughout the development process.Knowledge of all aspects of POC/Rapid tests, and/or immunoassay development to include multiplexed ELISA, production, quality control, and interpretation of the products. Ability to assist and troubleshoot customers’ concerns. Ability to organize and prioritize workflows and work effectively and efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to management and subordinates. Must have knowledge of Design Control, QSRs and ISO 9001 and a working knowledge of experimental design and interpretation. Laboratory skills, such as protein purification, antibody conjugation, lateral flow assay development skill and/or immunoassay development skills Requirements: Successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of scientists, engineers, biologists, clinicians and computational scientists to build point-of-care sample processing devices that can be used in remote settings, and using them in concert with portable sequencing instruments. This research will help transform medicine with a direct impact on human health. Requirements include:
PhD in mechanical, electrical, bio-engineering, or similar required.
Extensive experience building and using microfluidics required.
Proficient with instrument control using python, labview or Matlab required.
Extensive experience with rapid prototyping using PDMS, 3D printing, pumping, valving and microfluidic assemblies highly desired.
Extensive experience building molecular biology assays highly desired.
Prior experience building DNA, RNA extraction and amplification instruments desired.
Creative, interdisciplinary problem solver across engineering and molecular biology.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and mentor junior scientists and students.
