As far as experience is concerned if you have some experience related to the research methods or data analysis it can be highly fruitful.

Once you get high experience in this you can apply for the management of some research product or for becoming a senior research project manager and as on. With this experience you will also be developing your skills and eligibility for further jobs like government research jobs. One more thing that you can do is to specialize in a particular subject after your post-doc which will help you to again some senior jobs in those specialized fields.

In a postdoctoral researcher job you can get salary in two ways, either by a fixed salary or an appointment with sponsorship or gross awards. The salary depends upon the organization you are appointed for. As you are a postdoctoral research fellow you might not get a high salary, but you can expect a salary in the range of $15,000 to $20,000 US dollars per year.
